The Warfield House Bed and Breakfast, located in Elkins, West Virginia, was built in 1901 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once featured in Victorian Homes Magazine, it treats you to spectacular woodwork, a large stained glass window, a massive terra-cotta fireplace, and many original light fixtures. This gracious old home has been carefully restored with turn-of-the-century reproduction carpets and wallpaper, oriental carpets and many antiques. Most of all, you will enjoy the turn of the century ambiance.

Centrally located, the Warfield House sits on the corner of the Elkins City Park and across the street from the entrance to Davis and Elkins College. Davis and Elkins is home to the Augusta Heritage Festival and many of the activities during the Mountain State Forest Festival. You can easily walk to restaurants, shops, the Randolph County Cultural Center, the American Mountain Theater, the Saturday Farmers Market, and the Historic Elkins Railroad Depot, the departure point for the many different New Tygart Flyer scenic and Cass Historic railroad rides.

Or perhaps you’d rather sit on the 70-foot long wraparound porch, relax, and enjoy the large yard and garden.  You might also listen to the many local or visiting musicians who come out to play  during ‘Pick’n in the Park’ on Wednesday nights. If  you are coming for outdoor activities, Elkins is close to much of what West Virginia has  to offer.  This includes many State and National Parks, bicycling, motorcycling, kayaking, hiking, camping, tubing, and horseback riding, to name a few.

You can choose from four spacious antique filled guest rooms. The first three rooms listed have Queen sized Sleep Number beds for your personalized comfort.

  • First is the large Lavender Room with an antique iron bed and a bathroom with a double whirlpool tub and separate shower.
  • Then the Rose Room has a large French antique armoire and a bathroom with a shower.
  • The Vineyard features a vintage French bedroom set, a large bay window overlooking the City Park and a jetted tub in the bath.
  • The sunny Honeysuckle Room features two ornate Victorian three quarter beds and exclusive use of the large Art Deco bathroom.
  • The Birds Nest, a small bedroom on the third floor with a private bath.

All rooms and rates can be seen on our Facebook page, Warfield House B&B.

It has been ten years now that I have enjoyed both this beautiful Victorian house and the numerous exciting people who have stayed hereómany of whom are now dear friends.

Its time now to pass on this privilege to someone who would also cherish the house, who loves to meet people, likes to cook and would enjoy the many other opportunities in the Elkins environs, as described above. Or perhaps someone would love to live in the house, but as it is the last privately owned B&B in Elkins of this caliber, this is an excellent opportunity for someone to step into a well-established business with many repeat guests. Could this be you?
